Lowe-Martin is committed to excellence in serving all customers, including people with disabilities. As such, Lowe-Martin has developed policies and procedures, in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act 2005 (AODA), which set out the standards by which LM will provide goods and services to individuals with disabilities.
The purpose of the AODA is to develop and implement standards for accessibility as it relates to goods and services, facilities, employment, and buildings. The act is made up of five separate standards intended to address the aforementioned areas:
- Customer Service Standard
- Transportation Standard
- Employment Standard
- Information and Communication Standard
- Built Environment Standard.
Each individual standard will be implemented over time, by no later than January 1st, 2025.
The Customer Service Standard has been implemented at Lowe-Martin, with the remaining standards following as legislation requires.
